The mission of the ​West Virginia Amateur Radio Ham Club is to create a positive and welcoming environment for all amateur radio operators and enthusiasts where everyone can learn, enjoy the hobby, explore new challenges, and build life-long friendships.

Our monthly club meeting  are open to all. We do not require that you have a current amateur radio license to participate.

 WV8AR History

2019
  • The first UHF digital net was held on November 21, 2019
  • The 147.27 new Yaesu repeater was installed on May 27, 2019 
  •  The VHF and UHF 100 watt amplifiers were purchased and installed late August of 2019   
  • Deceamber 19 2019 www.wv8ar.com goes on line
2020
  • November 10,  2020  8 Bay antenna installed
2021
  • The first vhf & uhf digital net March 11 2021
  • 1 year Anniversary of Country Road Net celebrated on November 19,2020 with a Yaesu rep & certificate.
2022
  • ​January 2022 VE testing resumes after COVID 19 at alternate ​location at Nitro Church of Nazarene.
2023
  • October 2023 – Transmit antenna is a new 4 bay omni-directional up 180 feet,  receive only antenna an 8 bay in an omni-directional pattern up 140 feet
2024
  • ​March 11 2024 club meeting return to CAMC Teays Valley
